On Wednesday, Nov. 15, all Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) Grade 2 students in Barrie and Innisfil will receive a copy of Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure, thanks to a donation by the Rotary Club of Barrie.

In addition, the Rotary Club has a contest opportunity for students to bake dumplings at home for a chance to win a Chromebook.

Details of the contest will be distributed with each book.

Mike Grube, Rotary’s director of program and information, along with Sprocket, Rotary’s mascot, will visit Portage View Public School at 10 a.m. to deliver the books and read the story to students.

The school board says Andy & Elmer’s Apple Dumpling Adventure is in alignment with its commitment to developing community partnerships and our character education program.

It is a story about a young entrepreneur named Andy, who, with the help of a mysterious voice providing guidance and support, learns the value of truthfulness, fairness, goodwill, and partnerships that benefit everyone involved.
